Scorpio: a dual-fuel oven with a rotating pizza stone for perfect pies every time

When you first tried pizza, there is no turning back. The texture, aroma and taste will eat away at your being until the end of time. It’s an exaggeration on our part, but we love it. So if you’re an aficionado, you might as well make it at home with an oven like the Scorpio.

We all have one or more favorite pizzerias on speed dial in case cravings strike. Still, nothing beats a slice or more of homemade goodness. Unless you just prefer to order your pies all the time, the Scorpio is an innovative boon for budding and seasoned pizza makers alike.

It’s easy to dismiss this as another so-called game-changing pizza oven. However, its features are remarkable enough to rival Gozney Dome, Pizzeria Pronto, Ooni Karu and many others. Let’s start with the features that we consider to be great selling points that can convince people to grab one.

Pizza anytime and anywhere

First, the Scorpio lives up to its portability claim. It comes with folding legs, folding handles and detachable parts for easy transport. The furnace body weighs a manageable 30 pounds. Then comes the versatility provided by its bi-fuel system.

Use your favorite wood to give your pizza that authentic smoky Neapolitan quality. If you want quick convenience, use a propane tank instead. What makes this cooking equipment special is the patent pending Reverse Flow Draft System.

According to the manufacturer, “the design creates lightweight thermal efficiency by firing fire at the pizza, then innovatively recycling that intense heat by firing it into a secondary chamber, above the dome.”

This oven is made of 304 stainless steel for exceptional durability. The material offers excellent heat resistance, is easy to clean and will withstand exposure to the elements. A hinged door with a ceramic viewing window covers the front so you can see your pizza cooking inside.

Then there’s the rotating platform that houses the 16″ x 0.5″ pizza stone. Attach the motor and drive shaft, plug it into a power bank or directly into a power outlet, and turn it on. The cooking surface then rotates to provide even heat for all sides. Plus, they claim the Scorpion can fully cook your pizza in a minute or less.

A Complete Pizza Making Set

Finally, they’ll ship the Scorpio with everything you need right out of the box. We have the main body of the oven, the pizza stone, the two-piece chimney, the propane burner, the wood burner, the motor with a drive shaft, the DC/USB cord with adapter, the tool for fire and a pizza shovel. As of this writing, its Indiegogo page is already showing $67,448 in funding with 26 days remaining.
